Laptop Battery Life Report Analysis using CMD Prompt in Windows

Hi in this post I am going to show you how to know your laptop battery capacity using command prompt.

You can see the battery charging symbol on my system it shows the cross mark, but it was still working. Once you get the laptop after some years the battery life will be down so will tell you how to check your battery life using command prompt, and it will give all the information about your battery.

Just open the cmd.exe (command prompt) if you are the system administrator you can click that directly and if you are not an administrator just right click select an option run as administrator now it can open as admin for this command prompt.

In command prompt just type

powercfg -energy

(which means power configuration) it will take exactly 60 seconds to analyse your system.

Here I can see that 5 errors 6 warnings 16 informational and will suggest you to see c:\windows\system32\energy-report.html for more details so this information you need to check in your system.

Type windows button +R or system32 and the file exists in the folder name called energy-report.html and open it in your browser. It shows the webpage is not displayed because it is in SYSTEM 32 folder, copy the file and paste it in your local disk.

It will show a power efficiency diagnosis report, and you can store this file for your future usage, so you can get complete information about the laptop.

The main information you need to know about the battery information, and you can see the designed capacity of my battery is 48600, but it was showing 15455 this is the reason the battery is almost dead and that's the reason it shows.

The laptop will hold charge for a few more days or few more months than it will completely dead and this is how you need to track your battery life for your laptop.
